Vacations

So. It official that I will not be home to California for Christmas. The way the squadron worked things out is, Seth works the week of Christmas and then has the week of New Years off. Which is kinda lame cuz I wanted to be home. But, we will be home the end of Feb to go to a good friends wedding and its just that time of year that Seth gets Vacation. So that's a good exchange, and well have like 10-14 days of playtime.

Then in news today, I have chopped my hair to above my shoulders and got it dyed a deep brown, with a burgandy red highlights, not obvious without some light hitting it, which is ok with me. I'll take some pics tomorrow when there is sunlight. I am liking it tho, and so does Seth. Which is good, lol.

Oh, I am going to be in the Christmas parade here in Altus for Subway. I think I will be pretty entertaining. So when that comes along, I'll have some pics for you there. PS, I think it is silly that Christmas decorations are up already. They were up befor Halloween was here. I like seriously? What happened to Thanksgiving? What is wrong with people?? Just kidding. Although it does annoy me a little bit.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER AARON!! Turning 25. So old... Jeez..

And yes, I did indeed write that last blog at 4 in the morning, we were up cuz Seth was getting ready for work and I needed to wake up to drive him to work. So I figured while I waited for him, I would blog.

Happy Halloween!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween! Hope everyone has fun and is safe. Seth and I are just planning on staying in this evening because he works again tomorrow at 0430. Lame. But I guess I will be enjoying Halloween at work today.

In other news, we got our reimbursment, and I caved and we bought a new TV and cherry wood stand. It looks really nice. But I'm not only saying that cuz I built it, lol. It took me 3 hours. And I was tired. But it adds a little color. Well, I'm going back to bed. Night, er, morning.

Excitement

So I haven't blogged in a while, cuz I've been busy busy busy. We are all moved in, papers signed, and even have some pictures up. But I am so lovin' this new house. 3 bedrooms, tile floors... yay. But I am trying to think of some good ways to color up the living room. Light wood floors, white walls, white blinds, brown couches. Color boring!

But the reason I am super excited is cuz I lost 5! pounds! I also took some time off my mile, so today was exciting when we were at the gym.

Clarification

So a few weeks ago, I blogged that I accepted the Assistant Manager job that they have been hounding me about. Well, they agreed to my terms. But then, when I was trying to coordinate with the other manager, my manager threw a fit. She decided that I was too valueable to loose, even if only on occasion. So she threw up road blocks that the General Manager got tired of trying to work around. So I am no longer the Assistant at the other store. This all happened yesterday. And I am annoyed. Because I'm too good to let go, but not good enough to not throw over the coals in front of the whole store. So. that is what truely ticks me off. That is what is making me want to change jobs. To be roadblocked from progressing, and then... ragh!!! Anywho, I'm not quitting before I find a new job. But I am a very disgruntled employee.

Weekend

So Saturday Seth and I went fishing with a bunch of friends and we caught aTON of fish, all day long. I think when we left we had something like 15 fish. It was a fun day. Cuz when we got back, and cleaned all the fish, we then cooked all the fish. We had Lemon Pepper fish and Battered fish, and fries. Aka, fish and chips! Lol. It was fun. After we ate we played Monopoly till about 11 or midnight. It was tons o' fun.

Sunday was pretty low key. We didn't want to do anything huge, so we pretty much chilled at home. Not too exciting there. But we are going to be moving sometime this week... Around the corner. Lol. It still cracks me up how "far" we are going. But so going to be worth it.

I think I want to quit my job. Especially after the day I've had. But in order to do that, I have to find another job. Geez. I was telling Seth, that if I didn't have to work, I would quit today. Darn me being responsible... But we had a buisness meeting and I got blamed for stuff I didn't do. Then they changed my schedual without telling or asking me. It's just a bunch of crap that I don't wanna deal with. So the epic job hunt starts again.... wish me luck!

Tears

My poor dog. Suri hurt herself yesterday, and she is in so much pain. I took her to the vet this afternoon, and from how much pain she is in, it is very likely that she tore something in her knee, but to take the cheaper route first, she was perscribed some strong pain pills, just in case she only pulled something. But the Vet told me straight up that with the amount of pain she is in, coupled with the fact that she is part Pit Bull (which have a very high pain tolerance) that she probably tore it. So basically she is on bed rest. Lol. And if she isn't doing any better monday, then starts the more expensive route. So, crossing fingers, she'll start doing better soon.

But I like this Vet. He had a way about him that I liked a lot. He asked permission and talked to Suri like I do. Yes, I admit, I have conversations with my dog, and she talks, a lot. But I think I like the fact that he didn't treat Suri any different because she has Pit in her. Also, he explained everything to me, and listened to me. So, he is my dogs new vet here in Oklahoma.

Peace, Love, and... Prayers!

Birthday Boy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHARD!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, we had to wipe out or laptop, so I have no pictures of him on here. I feel bad too.

Saying Goodbye....

To my house. Some of you may remember back in April, I mentioned that our house is up to be remodles, but it turns out that it's going to be demolished. Well, our contract for the year is up this month on the 19th, and I went in today to see what I need to do and what not. Well, apparently, we have it until the end of Jan to find a new house. Still on base and the housing company will pay for the move. Our house is being demolished in Feb. So, despite the wait, my house is going bye bye. Hopefully we get a brand spanking new house that they are building now. Or even one of the newer houses that are way nicer then ours. Seth wants to move before then into a new house, so we are going to go back in on Mon or Tues to talk with our House Rep to see what we can do. So, here's hoping!

My Ring..

So turns out I lost a very important piece of paper, aka, my Diamond Bond. But I have all my other papers, like my LifeTime Warrenty, so they were able to look me up at the Zales in Salinas. But they misspelled my last name, so it was a little nerve wracking. Anywho, they are sending it out to a new place, cuz apparently they were having a ton of issues with their old diamond repairer. Yay.

The dealio is I was driving home from work, and I noticed the prong was broke and diamond gone. So this min I got home, I checked the car, and my pockets and the ground, and my apron. Not there. Went to work the next day, checked the floor, checked the sink, checked the dust pan, check the route to the dumpeter. It has successfully pulled a disappearing act. I was going to cry. I was thinking about it the other day, and I never banged, smashed, or whacked my hand that day, so there was no reason for the prong to break. So when they "tightened" all the prongs, they cracked one and didn't even notice. How lame right? Anywho, I get my ring back (again) in 4-6 weeks. My ring finger feels naked in the meantime. ...

It Broke!

Oh my freaking goodness, I lost 1 of the 3 large diamonds tonight at work somehow. I don't know where, or when, or how. I just know when I was driving home tonight, a diamond was gone. I just got my ring back like 3 weeks ago, getting prongs tightened and a smaller diamond replaced. But that didn't stop a prong from breaking off!! Gah!!! Luckily I have a LifeTime Protection Plan. Hopefully everything will work out. But... You never know. I am so frustrated and upset, I kinda wanna cry about this. Wish me luck.

My Promotion

Well, turns out that I did end up taking the offer of Assistant Manager. But with a few of my own conditions. Hehe. Mainly that I am the Assistant Manager at one store, but I continue working at my store. But I get all the perks of being the Assistant at the other store. I also found out that my current manager was fighting to keep me at my store. So I feel loved. <3 So I get a raise, the responsibility, and free food. Lol. But I am pretty excited about it. This is about all I got for now.

People We Overlook...

So last night while I was at work, I met an amazing man. No, I am not leaving or thinking about cheating on my husband. I have a customer that comes in quite frequently, and is always polite, but not overly talkative. Well, my trainee recognized him as his High School janitor. Well, through a series of comments on all our parts, he tells us a little about his life. From running away, taking his friends identity to be eligable to join the Marines 50+ years ago to try and change his life. (no joke, he paid someone $35 bucks to change the picture on the license...) He also told us of how he was a POW in Korea for 9 months. And the conditions (without going into details for my sake.) of how things were. And then Finally how the Turks came in, killed all the captors without a single shot, and saved them.

It really made me think about the people in your life. Going around, having this huge story, and you not knowing a single part of it. I can't even really put into words how talking to this man made me feel. All I can say, is you never know. Treat everyone with the respect that you wish you had for everything that you have gone through. Peace.

Promotion

No, it's not my promotion. But Seth put on his 2nd stripe Monday to make him officially A1C Curtis. Lol. His arms hurts like crazy, cuz in the military, whenever you tack on another stripe, you get punched hecka hard. No reason really, just a right of passage. It'll be nice to have his checks have a little extra.

This week is the UCI (aka, the Air Force is inspecting our base) and apparently it was seriously talked up, so they wouldn't slack off. But it's been obnoxious for me, cuz right now we are EXERCISE FPCON BRAVO so everyone is all uptight about everything and it takes me like 2o min to drive 5 miles to work... Mainly just trying to get off base. Lucky its over on Fri or Sat.

Some obnoxious things at my job are, 2 people quit this week. Yea. One was a girl I just finished training, and just kinda up and left town giving the manager 24 hour notice cuz I told her off. She was just gunna leave. RAAAGH!!! And the other girl actually gave 2 weeks notice, but she didn't show up for her last 2 days of work. Soo... guess who had to cover everyones shift.. I did!! Gah. I am so tired. I have worked like 10 days straight, and tomorrow is my first day off. And I am training a new kid, so I have been working only night shifts. I still haven't decided whether or not to take the promotion, I don't feel like I can right now because my store is so short handed. But I don't know on top of that. It's just all so confusing. Anyways, I have to go back to work to train the new kid. Ding, round 2!

Confused...

So, my first day back at work, and the re-reoffer me the Assistant Manager Job at the other Subway store. But she kinda sweetened the deal. Day shifts working with the other managers. A better-ish raise... Seth thinks that I should accept it, cuz it would mean totally free food for him and more money for us. Plus we'd get to see each other more. My only draw back is that I am always getting complaints about how the store employees aren't nice, and are disrespectful. But I am also being told by people, that I could change that. Be the example, ya know? But.... I don't know. It's tempting, but I like working at my store with my people. Anyone have any suggestions?

My Life For The Past Month

Sooo. It's been awhile. I know I have left you all in suspense on the happenings of the Curtis Family. It was for.... dramatic effect...yeah... But anyways, I was telling my mom, that my life is pretty boring, and doesn't change that much day to day. But. She says otherwise. So here you go.

Seth was schedualed to deploy in November, then that got moved to October, specifically our anniversary, and then, last weekend, his deployment got cancelled all together. But before we really has time to celebrate, he is also told that he might be put on the Afgan team in March. But no promises. Some exciting things are is next week, he puts on A1C, and that means a pay raise. Woo Hoo!!!

For me, I was offered an assistant manager job for the other Subway. Call me crazy, but I turned it down. It was at the other store, and daily, I hear complaints about how rude the other store is. So, I was actually considering it, but I got the worst feeling ever. How can you ignore that? So now, I am still a sandwich artist doing some assistant manager jobs, without the pay... Go figure. But I got my friend a job at the store with me, so I am training her, and having lots of fun.

Lemme see, Suri has gone back to escapee ways. She was tired of being outside in the heat, so she pushed her way out of the yard, and ran all the way.. to the porch. Lol. Seth wasn't happy about it, but at least she didn't run away. Brutus has been growing like a weed on steriods. Hehe. No joke, he is catching up to Suri, I guess that's not saying THAT much, but considering he's only about 5 months old, that IS saying something.

Guess who is on her way to my house?!?!?! My Big Sister!!! And we are preparing to go on the Epic Texas Road Trip of '09. I am so excited! So she called me when she landed, and told me that she forgot all our information in her car, in Florida. Awesome, no? But don't worry, it has all worked out.

No pics today, cuz it turns out that I have missplaced my batteries for my camera. So, maybe my sister will let me take some and let yall see us. Well, I have dinner to make, a husband to pick up from work, laundry to fold, and a sister to sign on to base. Peace, LOVE, and Family!!

A day to talk...

lol, my mom, and sending me "hate mail". Apparently my busy life isn't enough of an excuse for a lapse in my blogging. So here is an update.

I cut off 7 inches of hair. I am the queen of pony tails, and my hair can barely go into one for work. I like it tho. It was just getting too hot here with my long hair. It's been averaging about 110 degrees for the past 2 or so weeks. So, needing a change in my do anyways, I went to a new salon for me, but recommended by some co workers, I said, "I need a change, and I want shoulder length hair. And she said ok. Lemme show you a picture of what I am thinking for you." Sold! lol. So, now my hair is gone. Its still a shock for me.

So, we are happy to announce, that we have a fence. Lol. Its been 7 months coming. I have wanted one, but I couldnt justify it till I got the new puppy. Brutus is doing so much better. He has truely blossomed with our affection. He still kinda shrinks back when you reach for him, but it is wayyy better. We heard him bark for the first time last night. It was cute, and high pitched. We laughed. Holy cow, he has the longest legs in the world. Deffinately boxer in him. He loves Suri. Oh, how he loves Suri. He is her shadow. She is his chew toy. She is his pillow. At least in his mind. Suri has started playing with him. She is not so hot for the chewing on her. But she doesn't mind the cuddling, cuz she is the cuddle queen.

Have I mentioned recently that, I AM GOING TO CALIFORNIA TOMORROW!!!! Can you tell I'm a little excited? I am vibrating a little. I'm not even done packing and we are leaving tomorrow morning, and I work tonight. So, I'm relaxed, cuz everything is washed, it's now just packing it up. And I have my handy dandy checklist. Lol. Well, this should satisfy mom for now. I will blog when I am back from Cali. Maybe.. lol. jk

Exciting!

So, I am getting so excited about going to California, 15 more days! We have so many people contacting us, wanting to spend time with us. I just am going to be glad to see my family. Like you don't even know. This is going to sound so juvenile, but I miss my Mommy.. (pouty face) She is one of my best friends in the whole wide world.

Well, as most of you know, we are keeping the puppy. His name is Brutus. And I am happy to report that he is coming out of his shell. To be completely honest, I was super concerned about him at first. He wasn't really responsive, and he didn't seem intrigued with anything, or anyone. But, he is so spirited and active now. It's cute, and slightly puppy obnoxious. I am very pleased that never made a mess in the house. He always lets me know when he was to go. And Suri has been a great role model for him. And she is slowly super warming up to him. Pictures to come soon. Love you guys!

New Things.

So, nothing much has been going on with us. Although, I may or may not have been given (again with the free stuff) a puppy. He is a male (obviously) chocolate lab and boxer mix. Basically, I saved him from death. I don't have a picture yet, cuz we are not possitive that we are keeping him. But he's 3 months old, mainly house trained from what I understand, and is super cute. He is a red/brown coat, with a black muzzel and tail. He has a very boxer esk look to him. No name yet. And...that's about it. Nothing much is new. Love!

Happenings in the life...

SO, anyone who knows me, knows I don't do so well with needles most of the time. But I am happy to report that today, after having 6 1/2 (guess I ran out of blood, lol) vials taken, I DIDN'T PASS OUT. lol. But today was a new guy taking my blood, so, as he was telling me to sit in the non reclining chair, I was like, "I should tell you, I have a bad history with needles and passing out." He looked at me like I was joking, and said, "Serious?" LOLOL. Like I would joke about this. "Yup, I have got plenty of experience passing out at my Drs in Cali, take me word, with the amount of blood you're taking, I need to lay down." So yeah, it worked out. But he was all, keep your hand in a fist, but relax your body (think to myself , How on earth do you do that??) and breathe.

Yeah. Awesome. And to top it all off, my normal Dr went into labor that morning, so I got a male Dr to talk about in depth female things. Can anyone say AKWARD!!! Don't worry, nothing is wrong (at least not that I know of) just trying to figure some stuff out. But I am going to be seeing Drs about bi weekly or so. Which is gunna suck work wise.

In other news, I was given a bedroom frame and headboard. I did a happy dance for that one too. Its nice, I like it, Seth doesn't care much, he's like, I just sleep on the bed, I don't care what it looks like. LOL, typical guy right? But I am super happy about it.

And last, but certainly not least.... WE ARE GOING TO CALIFORNIA NEXT MONTH!!!! That's right ladies and gents! Seth was approved for some leave, so we are going. My boss is sad, she was all, what if you don't want to come back. It's not that I want to come back to OK afterwards, It's more of a have to for Seth. Great reasonings, right? But Seth and I have a list of placed to go started up. So far, the musts are, Super T, Cheung Changs, In and Out (what can we say, we love CA food), the beach, family, friends, the beach....and thats where we are at for now. Anywho. Laundry to sort and fold, so TTYNT!!!

Peace, LOVE, and CALIFORNIA!!!!

GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT!!!!!

Seth and I are the new owners of a washer and dryer!!! And this is the best part....We got it for free!!!! (does a happy dance) There is a place here on base called Airman's Attick, and basically, people donate whatever they don't want or need anymore. And there is this special spot where you can sign up to be on a list for a washer and/or dryer.

WELL, we have been on that list for 5 months, and yesterday...I got a call saying its our turn! So I went and claimed them. But I had to work that day, so I couldn't take em home. Don't worry though, we got them today, and they work, and it's awesome. The washer is from like the 70's, so the inside is small, but that's ok. And the dryer is super nice. I set them up all by myself, with a little guideance. Lol. But that is my exciting news. I can do laundry for free, and whenever I want! YAYAYYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PEACE!

Finally!!

I finally got a day off after 2 weeks! It is so needed, not just to rest, but to clean! And to TONS of laundry! Its kinda bad, I'm not going to lie. I keep the trash and dishes taken care of, but things are a little hairy, compliments of Suri. Lol. Ah, a day off with Seth means we both are cleaning while relaxing, strange I know. His Mom is always asking me how I get him to clean, but he normally is like, ok, cleaning time. Plus, I have my ways. lol. Our room is full of cloths to be washed and cleaning stuff, and military stuff. Its a wreak.

In other news, I got to talk to essentially my whole immediate family yesterday. It was nice. They all desended on my moms house for Miss Lori Loo's graduation, and so I called. LOL. Everyone was excited to hear from me, at least I hope so, lol. =)

Seth lost hearing in his left ear yesterday at the firing range. It's bound to happen after 10 hours of it. But I am happy to report, his hearing is practically all better now. Yay. He learned how to shoot left handed, because he is left eye dominant, which is pretty cool. I suppose. He passed his second try, which is awesome. Hmm. In 3 months, he tacks on his second stripe. Which is exciting. I think its actually 100 days exactly today, I could be wrong, it's know to happen. I wanna go shooting his M-4 but he has to buy the bullets first. It'll be super exciting to find out if I can still out shoot him, or if the military made him better then me. So we shall see, hopefully in the near future.

Other then that, nothing much is going on right now. I have decided not to buy another puppy for a while, even tho I had puppy fever. lol. Things are good for us, so I don't want to upend anything. Anywho, lunch has arrived with its beautiful italian smells...

Peace, Love, and ITALIAN FOOD!

Congratulations!!!

So today, my baby sister graduated Junior High! Tear* I have so many memories of this little girl, I could go on and on. But I wont and save her some dignity. This pic is the most recent that I have, and sadly, a little out dated. But I just wanted to tell everyone I am so proud of her! Love you Loo

So this new girl

So. The store hired a new lady, who was a friend of someone who already works for us. But, yesterday while I was training her, it was baaad. 2 hours into her shift she was all, I need to sit down for a bit, and I was like, ok, but if anyone comes in, you need to come help. She said that was fine, but when people came, she didn't come help. And then she was slow, which is expected to be new and all, but this was a whole new speed of slow. I actually got called and was told to go faster by the general manager. I told her I can, but I'm not so sure she can. Well, the new girl came in today and quit, saying she didn't think she could go anymore faster, and she didn't like being told what to do by someone who is half her age. In other words, she was offended by the fact that I am younger and training her. She lasted 2 days.

Lol. I kinda feel bad, but at the same time, not so much. But another one of our employees quit today cuz she was moving. My poor manager was near hysterics because everyone was quitting on her, and so when I came into work tonight, she asked me if I was quitting too. So now we are hiring and training again.

Things are going good, we are having lots of heat, and we are working hard. I am getting about 30 to 35 hours a week. But its bed time, so I'll post again another time

I'm in Love

With a new ice cream flavour. Lol, you thought Seth did something cute, didn't you.. Well, he did, but it's just cute Seth things. Anyways, the flavour is Pomegranate Cheesecake. Yum. It's at our local ice cream joint called Braum's. Delicious. Even Seth saya it was interesting, but he doesn't like cheesecake. So he may be bias. Hmmm...

Today was a good day off, we went to a Retirement Ceremony for a Cheif Master Sergent that was one of Seth's higher ups. I can't tell you how many times I heard the number 25 and 1/2 today. It was redunculous. (prenounced re-dun-cue-lous, my own special word) The things this man has done is amazing. He has so many degrees and he wrote a book called Control Your Destiny: A Common Sense Guide to Success by Steven Michael Martinez. This guy is pretty awsome. I wanna get this book. He kinda pulled some lines from it in his farewell speach today and it sounds pretty interesting. I've talked with this guy a few times at work, and he is so nice. But he isn't really retiring, he is moving to Florida to be the chief security person dude at Cape Canaveral. Lol.

Anyway, it's been an overall good day. I am talking myself out of buying a new husky puppy. My boss just bought one, and he is so cute. But I know I am a sucker for puppies, and so is Seth. So we aren't rushing into anything. I can't remember if I've said before, but I am being seriously considered for a management job soon. I got phone calls by 2 of my managers, and had a visit at work by the general manager to talk to me about several things. Anywho, that's all for now, I'm gunna hit the hay, catch some zzz's. Night all!!

Peace, LOVE and Chocolate

Drumroll Please

SO.. Seth took his Job Knowledge test today. And he felt pretty confident that everything went well, but they were taking forever to score them. So we, along with another couple, decided to go to lunch as a celebration to passing, or mourning the failing. Either way, we were eating good. LOL. And then he gets a text, (I mean really, who calls people anymore.) and he PASSED!!!! With a 90! The highest score of this group! Yay! He kinda looked like he was in shock. It made me giggle. So we are super proud and are celebrating. Celebrate with us!

For Mom... and everyone else...

My mother sent me 'hate mail' telling me to post something new. LOL. I knew it had been a while, but I didn't realize HOW long. Sorry about that. Life has been busy. I am loved at my job (Mom says there was never any doubt) and they have entrusted me with a key to the store. They have also started giving me management training, which is cool. I laughed because they were nervous about asking me to come and learn new things, I'm like, I'll learn whatever you want to teach me. They are impressed with me, and there is rumblings about giving me a raise already. GO ME! They have me working A LOT so I don't have tons of time on my hands, and my weekly paychecks are nice. The only bad things about this job so far is, I never get to see Hubby anymore, makes me sad. Luckly, my manager trys to get me a day shift and at least one day off with him. It's true what they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. It's cute, when I come home from closing shift, Hubby will already be asleep, but when I go in the room he says, "Babyz! I miss love you and I missed you so much!" then promptly falls back to sleep. LOL. So at least I know that even his sub consious loves me.

News for him is, the is taking his Job Knowledge test tomorrow, and he feels super good about it. This means, when he passes, we are then eligable to take leave. Yay! BUT, they way the schedual is now, we wont be able to leave till about July. Which is ok, cuz hopefully we will get the early July one, and be back in Cali for the 4th of July rally, which will be the most excitement we've had in a long time. So yes, we are coming, but no, we don't know exactly when.

Let's see. In other news, this town is sooooooooo smalll with noooothing to do. It makes Hollister look like a hopping place. We are the exciting place for our neighboring towns. The closest semi entertaining town is Lawton, which is about 60 miles away. Lamesauce. For example of my towns lameness is... I had to go to 4 stores to get a gift for a friend and co-worker who graduated this last weekend. 1 for balloons, 1 for a card, 1 for chocolates and 1 for a Teddy Bear in a cap and gown. I'm like, seriously, we need a Target. I didn't realize how much I loved the place. The most exciting place to go is Wal-Mart. No joke. (My co worker would say "WOW" but kinda sounding like a cat meowing. It's hard to explain.) Seriously, DENNY'S and STARBUCKS and DUNKON DONUTS couldn't make it in this town. The reason being is, the Committee of 100 are all buisness owners who don't want the town to change. They are afriad of the mom and pop placed being over run. We have no mom and pop places. We have Hotels, Fast Food and Gas Stations. RAWR!!!!

So that's my ranting on the town. If I think of anything I missed, I'll blog again. I'll let ya'll know if anything exciting happens and if Hubby passes his test.

PEACE, Love and Chocolate

Why am I still awake???

Today... Has been... A long day. Like as long as it took me to say that. Because it is a day off, it was laundry day. But before I went to the laundromat, I cleaned out the car (I admit, it was really bad) but I don't have a vacuum so there was dog hair everywhere still. Anyhow, I washed the clothes, came home, picked up Hubby and made him vacuum out the car. Then, because I was in a cleaning fix, I did the dishes, cleaned the bathrooms, swept, mopped, took out all the trashes, went shopping... Hubby was all, "Would you like help Enegizer Bunny?" Lol. I didn't tho, which was weird, because I never say no to help.

I felt like I needed the picture.... I am glad I cleaned, cuz now I can relax. But the reason I am awake, is because I need to figure out how I want to cut my hair. But to know what would possibly want, I needed to know the shape of my face. And I couldn't figure it out. So I called my trusty mom. Thanks mom for the shape of my face and style ideas! And thanks to my lovely Sister for letting me bounce ideas off of her! But now I am not so tired but I am exhausted. So I think that is all. I'll put up some pictures tomorrow of what it come out to be, cuz I still don't know! Haha.....

Flooding...

So last night we had a major thunderstorm. Normally I can jsut sleep threw a storm with no problems. Not last night. Oh no.. I jerked awake cuz seriously, it was loud. Living on a Air Force base and regularly hearing plane engines 24/7, in my half asleep mind the thunder sounded like a plane was flying right next to my window. Not 10 seconds later, my room lite up with light. Seriously, took me 30 min to fall back to sleep because it was that loud.

Then this morning, its still raining, but not pouring like last night. But I still misjudged the mass amounts of rain that came down. I'm used to seeing big puddles on the streets after a good rain, but it wasn't until we were leaving base this morning and the creek that we take Suri to was more like a lake. Seriously, the creek is generally a 4 feet deep, 4-5 feet wide and like a foot of water regularly. We couldn't see the ground, at all.. And the creek goes under the brigde at the gates, that was flooded almost to the roads. The space inbetween the gate roads are filled. It was rediculous. Even now, 10 later, the creek still resembles a lake. Lol. There are crews trying to clear out the grates so it will flow out better. All of housing is fine tho, which is good news.

So I guess my house isn't getting a new inside like we were led to believe. It's more of a, when our contract is over in Oct., and we don't renew or decide to move in somewhere else, or whatever, our house is going to be demolished and replaced... Frownie face.. That's right, it's staying only cuz we reside in it. Yay for me saving a house. lol. The survey they did on Monday was for an environmental thingy to make it all legal.

And I have been thinking, Suri is just going to be staying at my house when we aren't here until we get a fence. Which will hopefully be soon. But we think it'll just be easier to clean up a mess then paying medical bills it the trend at the puppysitter continues. Rawr, I'm still annoyed by it. So yea, 3 logs in 3 days, I'm on a roll...lol

Till next time!!! Peace, LOVE and Chocolate!

So Annoyed!

So, first off, I am feeling better. After my Dr. appt I slept the rest of the day. Which was nice. And today I was back at work. And that is where my annoyance comes in.

Both Hubby and I were working today, and so I took Suri over to someones house to watch her. Well Hubby came and got the car on his lunch break, cuz he was working a short day. He was picking up Suri from said babysitter (puppy sitter?) and she has a HUGE limp. He kinda freaked out and came to my work (30 min before I was off) and says I need to get someone over to cover me cuz Suri is hurt and she wont let him touch her. Not knowing any other details then that, I got a co worker to come in a few min early, and I left. I got home and did a little exam on her. And so far, I can't see anything specifically wrong with her, no cuts or sore spots. (at least she isn't whining about anything in particular). But she does have a limp. So she is pampered. Its probable just a pulled muscle or something. Hubby was all, 'So I may have over reacted...'

But that is not why I am annoyed. I am annoyed cuz when I talked to the puppy sitter she said she would only be gone for about 2 hours. Not so. Apparently, she was gone 7 hours, and she knew she would be gone that long. And she didn't even notice Suri's limp. And there are other issues going one, but let's just say....I am annoyed. Lol. I think I've mentioned that already...

Well, dinner needs to come out of the oven in a min, so that's all folks. PEACE, Love, and Chocolate!

Blah....

So I am sick. It's lame. I was fine yesterday all day, I spent time with a friend, took Suri to the park. Had a grand ol time. Then I went to pizza, and come home, and was siiiick... Hubby and I think there was something was old or wrong with our pizza. It's just hitting me like 10 times harder. So I can't go to work, I can't do anything out and about. Except got o the doctor to get a note for work. Lame lame lame.

BUT apparently my house is going to be renovated. Which is cool I guess, because I am not going to have to pay for it. But it may mean moving out and into somewhere else. But I don't know anything about that yet. There were just here doing the pre renovation walk through thingy that I found out about on Saturday. Great heads up you know?

My boss and I have become friends, but we had to talk about that personal cannot make me think I am above the rest at work. LOL. I don't think it's going to be a problem. But I was told by the General Manager I now have the right to tell someone at work what to do because I am already better, and more self motivated. Don't worry, I wont let it go to my head or anything. But it will be nice, because I've been doing most of everything when we work together. Which gets old reeeeeaallly fast, but it's not like I'm just not going to do it cuz I'm annoyed, I'm just not like that. But exciting times. I guess. It's hard to be optomistic when your sick. Well my lovelies. That's all for now, I have a Dr appt to keep. Muah. Love

Sleeps A-lot

So, I've realized that because I am working night shifts, I am sleeping a whole lot more. I am enjoying my job a lot. It kinda stinks cuz I don't get to see Hubby as much anymore, but it makes the time together that much more sweet. Luckly, my bosses husband works with Hubby and so he gets her to make sure I have at least one night off with Hubby on his days off. I have to say, it works nicely. Pretty much I work most nights, closing. It used to rotate between 3 of us, but someone quit (not my fault, lol, but it happened after he worked with me lol) so yeah, I work lots and lots.
I was amazed the other day that Hubby said we needed to clean house, and to pick up some other things to clean better. I about passed out. lol. I keep the house clean, but this was like spring cleaning a la Hubby. So now my house always smells like warm vanilla (Hubby's choice) and it stays pretty clean. Which I truely do enjoy.
But all in all, things have been good. We had Hubbys family over the other weekend....and that was interesting. The grandparents liked me, and they were sweet. Brother-in-law had fun with us and with Hubby. We are trying to convince him to come back during summer vacation. I think it will be fun. Some other things were... obnoxious. Agreements were disregarded, and rules of my home, disrespected. And so I am annoyed about that, but I'll get over it.
So that's the update for me. I'll try to keep things more up to date, but there are no promises. Hehe.

PEACE, Love and Chocolate kisses

JOB!!!

I HAVE A JOB!!!!! I am so excited. Hubby's co-worker's wife is a manager at a resturant here, and got me an interview. So I show up, she talks to me for a bit, and says, "Ok. You're hired" just like that. Apparently Hubby gave a glowing review (what was said, I have no idea, he refuses to tell me, and make my manager swear not to either). So that's annoying, because I want to know. And so she tells me that she'll start training on Wednesday. Well, the next day, she calls me asking me to start on Monday (aka today), and I said sure. So I have job. And it is fun. I enjoyed it, the co-workers were fun, and I cought on quick. I am starting on veggies, moving to meat, then the computer. Well, today I made the bread, and the cookies on top of veggies. It was a good day. I'm tired tho, and my feet are sore, so I am just relaxing. Wish me luck with my training! But I must admit that most of it is common sense. Lol. YAY FOR HUBBY GETTING ME A JOB!!!

2+2=3....right?

So, I may not be the quickest turtle in the race. But I sure have a lot of fun laughing at myself. Today I was on the phone with my mom, recounting my thought process I had while the base was undergoing some live exercises. Which I didn't know about. It was a little over a week ago, when I was trying to head into town to take care of some things. When I was trying to leave housing, and I saw two cop cars parked on the street, lights going. Now I had heard sirens eariler so I just added it up to being a car accident or something of that nature. Then the flightline trucks show up. (flightline trucks don't leave the flightline) and everyone piles out of the cars wearing their kevlar combat helmets. And I thought, that's weird.
Well they tell me to turn around, and I thought no big deal, I'll just go out another way. So I do and I see Hubby directing traffic to go another way, but I can still go, so I turn towards the gate. I then see the line of cars trying to go out, and it finally clicks that something BIG is going on. I turn around and see the K-9 dogs come out, and then the bomb squad.
So I pull into a parking lot, and call a friend, and ask if she knows what's going on. She was all 'Yeah, there is a bomb threat at the hospital'. Yeah. I felt dumb, so I asked if I could be dumb over at her house because I had a great story. LOL! Turns out that the box was just cough medication left by the recieving door left behind. But not before hubby had to evacuate the hospital, temporary housing, both banks and some other radom buildings.
Moral of the story, when Security Forces in kevlar helmets tell you to turn around, just GO HOME. lol. Mom laughed alot at my blond roots coming through, and my slow deduction skills. Fun times, fun times.

The flowers

So, while talking to my sister the other day, the subject of flowers came up. In many ways. Lol. She is a google freak (said with love) and loves to Google lots of things. So when she was unable to find the flower type that I have in my yard, I thought that I would take a wack at it. So I typed in purple flower on bush Oklahoma. And a few picture websites later, I found it. They are Saucer Magnolia Flowers. And I am so proud of myself for Googleing it, so now I'm not going crazy trying to figure it out. Lol. Yay me! Google rocks!

Updates

So, nothing has really happened recently. Except for the fact that husband has been needing to be at work and 4 am. Meaning we wake up at 3:30 or earlier. Needless to say, I am sick of it, and super tired.
I have also decided that the people of Altus, Oklahoma, LOVE the color purple. We have trees with purple flowers, bushes with purple flowers. Purple is everywhere! Luckly, I think that purple plants are pretty. My bush is a little wilted, but still seems to be doing ok.
Our weather is crazy right now. We have had weather ranging from 96-40 degrees. Possible tornados, hail, and rain. All in about a week. So who knows what its going to be like tomorrow.
That's pretty much it. None of my job applications have turned out to be fruitful. Seems like no one is really hiring right now, so thats stressful, but I'm still trying and crossing my fingers. Wish me luck!

Pretty Flowers

So, I can tell how often I don't go out of my front door during my daylight hours. I walked outside with my husband the other day, and saw this sight, in a few views...

So I ask myself, when did these bloom? And I am super excited to have flowers and green things. I am curious as to what kind of flower it is. So our brown, prickly grass is starting to turn green in patches. And I can hardly wait to find out what other colors are going to bloom in my yard. Hurray for gardening people! I do go out my back door frequently and as of yet, nothing has bloomed. But here's hoping!

Dental Drama

So yesterday Hubby and I drove to Texas to get his wisdom teeth out. Oh joy right?

While we were driving, I saw like 15 camels in a corral like horses.
I'm like, seriously, why do we have camels in Texas!
I find it histarical. Even my sister who lived in Texas, said
"What?! How?! Why!?"

So we get there like an hour early, cuz we have no idea where we were going. And we actually get lost driving on this base. Lol. Our base only has stop signs, not lights. This base was huge, with stop lights everywhere. So we see the hospital, but we had a hard time getting to it. Lol. Windy roads and all. Eventually we make it. The surgery, takes forever. They actually hook him up to an IV. I thought it was a little overkill, but you have to protect your assests, right? Well, the dental assistant brought me his orders to be on quarters till....Feb 30. I'm like, woah, hold the phone. I take the paper to the desk, and I asked "When Feb started having 30 days in it?", he was all "When did it not?" WHAT!!! I pull out a calender, and was all, "Feb ends on the 28, so do you mean March 2?" He was all, "yeah yeah, that's what I ment." Funny Stuff.. I thought Air Force men were smart. Lol.

Anyways, the surgery went well, he is sore, swollen, but doing ok. I am waiting for all the pretty colors to show up. So until he can eat normally, its all for juice, soup, mashed potatoes, and yogurt. I would post a pic, but he doesn't like em to begin with, and especially so in pain.

FYI

It has come to my attention that some of you heard there were tornedos here in Oklahoma, and are worried for my safety. But don't worry, we didn't get hit, we just had lots of wind. But it is true that there were tornados in the state. But not here. Lol. I think I've made my point. So I'm safe, my town is safe. No worries here. Love ya'll!
Peace, LOVE and chocolate!

So my brain hurts, but not as bad as previous years.

That's right ladies and gentelmen, I filed our taxes. I was gunno go through the effort of doing it by hand, but then Hubby tells me that we can file with H&R Block online for free! I was happy. I juat punch in numbers, and they do all the thinking. PLUS!, it checks to make sure I do everything right! I was excited. I was worried about having all my W-2's with my maiden name, but I told em I got married this year, and they told me what to do and they told me congratulations. I did the math by hand anyways, just for fun (what can I say, I like numbers) and we are getting more money this way anyways and I could file state taxes. So all in all, I am a pleased customer. Go me!

P.S. I have put out tons of applications, but no news of a job yet. Which is lame, but if its ment to be, it will be.

Peace, love and CHOCOLATE!

Job Update

So the bank where I applied to will know if they want to hire my by Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday next week. But don't worry, when I talked to them, they didn't automatically tell me "no". Which is a good sign. I think. I also have applied at the movie store and I just heard about another bank with an opening. So heres hoping!

Walking on Water

So like I have mentioned, it snowed a dew days ago, it's been snowing. Well, the dogs were hyper the other day, so I took them to the park. And they went off running, having a grand ol' time, when I see Suri and Todd jump into the creek. Thinking that it must be freezing water, and they were gunna catch hypothermia, I ran over to them. Looked down.. and saw the creek. Lol. It was frozen solid. Suri and Todd were having a field day running on it, jumping down to it, licking it. Hehe.

So I get to thinking, Suri is jumping down onto that and it isn't cracking, she weighs a good 75 ish pounds, I think I will try it to. Ladies and gentlemen, and anyone else who is reading, I scooted down to the edge, I put my feet on to the ice....And I walked on water. Lol. It was pretty crazy. After a few minutes of walking up the creek, I found a spot that had thinned a little and cracked. And I wanted to find out how thick the ice was. Turns out to be about 4 inches thick or more.

It was fun as heck. I was there for a good while. Suri broke through, got soaking wet. But she is fine. I don't think she even noticed the cold. I am sad to say that the creek is now thawed and back to its flowing awesomeness.

Peace, Love, AND Chocolate!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Yeah, today is my 22nd birthday, hurray for me! Lol. I like birthdays. Mostly. So home made pizza and german chocolate cake for me tonight, Yay!

So, today it snowed. I like snow, except when I have to drive it. Lol. Suri and Todd love the snow. Love running around and pouncing through it. To the point that I bundled up at took them to the park like a crazy person. But I did have a funny story to tell.

Yesterday when I was warming up the car to pick up my hubby, my windshield was covered with ice. So I thought, I'll just throw warm water on it, it'll help thaw it. So I did. But then the windshield wipers POP OFF!!! Yeah, apparently they were still on from that mornings escape, and couldn't move from the ice. Yeah. So, I had to go get some new wipers today. But it decided to snow some more when I was driving to get them. So I drove a total of like 10 mph the whole way there. Lucky there was no one else on the road. So far its about 3 inches deep!

Stupid Cell Phone.....

So today, I was taking out my cell phone out of my pocket, my 5 key, which is also my gh key, fell off. I thought, no biggie, I'll call customer service and get a replacement or get it fixed, whichever workes out best. So I wait on hold, get transfered 5 times, asked to call back on a landline, which I don't have, so I drove to my friends house, called back, waited on hold again...do you feel a recurring theme here?... Well, apparently nothing works out best. Because its a 'manufacturer' error, the phone company won't do anything. They transfer me to the manufacturer, and they say, 'Sure we can fix that, but we have a set price to repair your style phone, its $190.00' I'm sorry, but a key is not worth $190. My phone itself was $250. So in reality, I could almost buy a whole new phone. So I decided to do a little browsing around on the internet, and you can't just get one key, but the whole key pad. BUT they don't tell you how to make the replacement. So what to do, what to do. I looked at prices of other phones (gag me). So I have decided that until I can afford a new phone, I will walk around with a bobby pin in my hair when I need to hit that oh so elusive 5 key. But I am so frustrated!!! So you can call me Mrs. Bobbypin Curtis.

Wish me Luck!

So this week I turned a job application in to 1 of the 2 job listings in any newspaper. How weird is that? But anyways, the job was a bank. They are going to be reviewing applications this week and should also be calling as well, I guess only the applicants that they want to talk to. But anyways, please think happy thoughts about me getting the job, cuz I need it! I am going to be competing with the whole town it seems! Anywho, wish me luck!

Exciting times at the Dr.

So yesterday morning, I woke up dead dog sick. So Hubby went off to work, and I went and camped out in the bathroom. Finally at 9:30, Hubby left work to take me to the doctor. Lucky for me, the base doctors were able to squeeze me in. So we go through the appointment and they ask me to get some bloodwork done.
Well, I always get stressed around needles, and so the flabotamist (sp?) joked with me and distracted me, and it all went well. No passing out for me! Yay! But the doctor wanted to go over the results with me, so while I waited in the lab, Hubby and I were talking. And then it happened. I started feeling really light headed, and dizzy, so I told Hubby to get someone fast, I was going to pass out. He listened, and I relocated to the floor. (less distance to fall, I have learned my lesson there)
Well, the lady who drew my blood came. Then a nurse came. Then the Major came. Then the Lt. Col. came. And then my doc came. And then I lost what little cookies I had. And another nurse came with a wheel chair. I got my own special room to recover in. They all stayed till I had color in my cheeks. The Major then went and fetched me a Sprite. They didn't want to stick me with an IV to hydrate me for fear of me passing out. Again. So 3 hours in the hospital and an Rx to help with the neasuea and told to rest, we went home.
Hubby was great through all of it. Feeding me ice chips, holding my hand, listening to me when I needed him to. He was told to take the rest of the day off to take care of me. And he did. Love that man.
So I am feeling better today, still not great, but better. Hubby keeps tabs on me. And hopefully I will be good as new soon.

Happy New Years~

I know I'm late, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! Needless to say, I have had an interesting year in 2008. I made many life changing decisions, and I don't regret anything I have done. If anything, I feel more fulfilled now then ever.

In 2008 I have;

Supported my then boyfriend as he went Air Force
Observed surguries and didn't get neauseous (yay!)
Got engaged while at BMT graduation
Planned a wedding
Got married to the man of my heart
Moved to Oklahoma
Made some new friends
Set up my house, including getting a kitchen table
Added to my family by adopting Todd
Adjusted to the military way of life
Helped out at Airman Against Drunk Driving (AADD)
Made Christmas dinner

12 things for 12 months, lol
----
For an update. We are doing great, loving life. I had a thought the other day about doing whatever is in your means to help someone.

It is a gratifying feeling when you are helping someone, and you do everything in your power, and knowing at the end of the day, there is nothing else that you could have done. I have had the ability to help out several times, with different situations, and it always makes me smile. Be it helping someone find their dog, give someone a ride in the right direction of home, or sharing your food with friends who are tight.

I am greatful for the opportunities that I have been given to help out here. I love my life, my family, the ability to have a home and be secure. Thank you to everyone who has ever helped me out in my life. You rock! Peace, Love and Chocolate~
