She's gunna kill me!

I think my friend is trying to kill me with exhaustion. Lol.
This is my friend that picked me up from the airport after my Christmas trip, and eventho I landed at 1, I didn't get home till 11 that night.
And then my simple trip to Lawton for some yummy Ihop, has turned into an all day drive. Lol.  But it's all for a good reason, and should be a ton o' fun.
Not that I am complaining, I love this girl, and our trips are always a blast. I can sleep another day right? Right.

Thankfulness...

Well, seeing as its Thanksgiving, I thought I would write something. :)
I am very thankful for all that I have. My husband is my everything. He tells me everything is going to be ok, when he has soo much on his plate already. He is my constant source of love and affection. I am so greatful that he is mine. He is stepping up to be the father of our child in soo many ways, and that makes me love him so much more. I miss him right now, but I am thankful that he is doing this for us.

I am so greatful that I am going to be a mom. It's crazy! As Seth has said, it makes our little family complete. I cannot wait for our little one to make its appearance into the world. It's amazing that I love my baby so much already..

My Mom is an amazing woman, and I have to say, that she really is my best friend. I know that she loves me no matter what. And words cannot describe exactly how grateful that she is MY Mother. She has taught me soo much, and I am so grateful that she is just a phone call away, and she will help me thru whatever I may be experiancing. And I am soo thankful that she has been amazing role model as to be a good mom. I love you soo much!

My siblings are awesome. They are quirky and I love them to death. I am greatful that we have eachother, even if it is long distance. :)

I am greatful for my grandparents. They have been there for my family through everything. They are truely amazing  people and I am so glad that my family has them so close. Love you guys!

I am thankful for my "Military Family". The friends I have made, and the people who work with my husband on a day to day basis. I am glad that a good many of them are just a phone call away. It's nice to know that they're there for both Seth and I.

There is so much more that I am thankful for. But I'll keep it to my family today. I love you guys and I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving day.

Scare..

So, as I am sure I have told some, I am not as far along as we thought. I am about 8 weeks right now. Which means, Seth will be home in time for the birth of our baby! As long as everything goes according to plan. But with a pregnancy and the military, you never really know. So, fingers are crossed.

I finally had my appointment on Thurs last week, and from the size, about 1/2 inch, I somehow got pregnant without a cycle. Amazing, I know. But this still puts me in the "My doctor said that the meds would make it possible to get pregnant, but this is 2 months sooner then what we were thinking" So it is still my little miracle baby. =)

I had a little scare on Sunday night. I got really sick, shakey, and had HUGE cramps and pain in my stomache, and so Seth called a friend and had me go to the ER. I am amazing how fast I got in. But, there was only one other person than me. Don't worry, I am ok, Baby is ok, I just got more pills and staying in bed alot for now. But I did get put on an IV of fluids and anti-neusea. I even managed to keep food down yesterday. So thanks ER.

I am a lot annoyed with the Woman's Health Clinic that I am assigned to go to, because they never call me back!! Gah! So many times I call and leave a message before I hear anything.. 3 weeks of knowing I am pregnant before they can "squeeze" me in. And then when I called them first thing Monday morning to inform them that I was in the Hospital the night before, they transfer me to leave a message, and then I have to call again later, and then wait till the afternoon to hear back. Lame! And then it was just, if it gets worse or happens again, go to the ER again and let us know. Apparently I have to have the same horrible thing happen twice for them to take me seriously....

Well, thats about all I got for now. I am ok. Baby is fine. Neusea is kicking my booty, but the pain is gone. So I call it a win for now. Love you!

Baby and Deployment

So, let me just say, I hate Doctor offices. I tried calling about 3 times over the course of a week or so, leaving messages, and never heard back from them. It took going in and talking to someone in person. And even that took 45 min to do. And there was no line. Lame. And because no one got back to me, the ultrasound to determine how far along I am, is not for another week still. So 3 weeks of knowing I am pregnant, before I know exactly how far along I am. So, by my calculations I am now 12-13 weeks. I am actually doing pretty good. I am just tired. Like alot. Not real neauseous, unless I wait too long between eating. But not a whole lot of morning sickness. If I get it, I ignore it.

I wanted to be able to have Seth see the baby before he leaves on Monday. Yes I said Monday. But now, my appointment isn't until after he leaves. We found out he was officially deploying until last monday night. So starting on Tuesday he has been running around like a chicken with no head, trying to get everything in order. I feel sorry for him. What really annoyed us is that APPARENTLY California is the only state, where you can be an active duty member, and while you live in another state, can have you license expire, and still have to renew it, unless you know about some fancy form you have to have them send you. So today, I was late to work so we can run around taking him to take the written test, behind the wheel, then run over to the tag agency and have his new license made. Because if I didn't take him, he could be arrested. Something we are trying to avoid. Lol. So he is now, officially, an Okie. Lol!

In other news, my last day at work for the time being is now Thursday. It keeps being pushed back,  day by day. But I will not be pushed back another day! Lol. Luckly I will have Monday off so I can moap and cry that whole day after Seth leaves. But, it'll be ok. I think. Hope?

And because Seth is leaving Monday, his parents are going to come down tomorrow for the weekend to say Bye! Which is nice. It just means that my day off tomorrow is going to be spent deep cleaning the house. Hurray.... Not.

But that's about everything. I'll prolly be blogging more because of the baby, and there wont be much else to do. Yay for you!

Preggers....

So, as you can see from the new widget thingy I have up. I am pregnant. And we are totally excited about it! I am a little shocked at the moment though, because I just found out, oh uh, a week ago today! But from our calculations, and I have gone to many different websites and nurses, I am due in the beginning of May. Which means in 2(?) weeks I'll be 3 monthes pregnant. Yay!

I have to say, it's the best feeling in the world for me right now. It wasn't the easiest to become pregnant, but I am so thankful to my Doctor and Seth for treating me and taking care of me. So, yea, the beginning of May.. At least it will be good weather here!

My Going Ons...

So, it has come to my attention that I have been lacking in my blog writing. My Apologies. There has actually been a lot going on and I will share some of that with you.

Let's see. My brother in law and his girlfriend are no longer in the state, and are back in California. There was lots of drama leading up to them deciding to leave (no we didn't kick them out, but we did give them a final move out date). Basically, the girlfriend manipulated as much of the situation as possible. Pitting my husband and I against eachother. Not ok. They ate 1000 worth of groceries in a month, and the applications that they "turned in" were later found under piles of papers. So, let's just say, there is much less stress and anger now.

I got the results of some test I had done a little over a month ago. Not the best news. Let's just say I had a bit of a melt down, and thanks to the support of Seth, my amazing mom, and friends, I am dealing. I have changed how I do things here and it seems to be working. Let's see, I am on 4 medications, and between them, working out regularly, and an overhaul of my diet, I am feeling great. I have lost 4 pounds so far in about 2 weeks, and I'm foreseeing many more to be lost in the future. Seth has been amazingly supportive of me and kicks my butt into the gym, when I let him. Lol

Our relationship is doing great. After a minor blowout when the in law was living with us, things are just easier between us. Plus, us knowing what's "wrong" with me gives more understanding between us. He is my rock right noe... I love him!

My class is going great! The kids are great and I am really enjoying teaching them basic bible stories and concepts. I teach two mornings a week, one night a week, and this upcoming week will be adding another, older class once a week. I love my job!

Uhhh. I think that's it. Love you guys!

Family, Friends and Work

Things are going good here. My brother in law and girlfriend have moved to Oklahoma. It's been pretty fun. When we picked them up, we didn't get home till about 4 am. They've settled in and hopefully will be getting a job soon.

My job is going good. I have been setting up my classroom for mothers day out. The theme for us is "Learning to BEE like Jesus". I didn't come up with it at all. My boss has been looking up themes, and she kept coming back to it. Pretty cool, huh? So my room is almost done at this point. 2-3 wall done. I'll post pictures when it's done, cuz I'm pretty proud of it. =)

Seth has been moved to nights again, covering for someone. So it gets kinda lonely without him at night. But now that I have company, its not as bad as it could've been. =(  But he should be back on schedual in a week or so.

It's amazing the family you make when you're in the military. A friend of ours is loaning us there second vehicle while he is deployed, so we don't have 4 people to one car. Amazing right? He is paying the insurance still too. All he asks is to pay for gas and maintain it. Amazing. He is doing this without us asking him. He just showed up on our doorstep yesterday and let us know that it was happening. It is a great relief for us. Yay for good friends!

Reproduce...

I have a funny story to tell you about the word Reproduce. I hope you enjoy it/

Today at work, we were supposed to provide child care while the Sunday School teachers can attend a seminar about how to progress and expand their church and classes. Well, turns out, no kids came. So we were told to go to this seminar, because we do teach the kids on certain days of the week, but we didn't really have to, but if we wanted to get paid for the hours we had to go. It was a snore bore. Like my friend and I were dying. We weren't really paying attention, until the last person got up. He starts something like this." Sunday School classes have to REPRODUCE to expand the church. The daughter classes the mother classes give birth to, the more you churches will grow."
Seriously?!?! We just about died in a fit of giggles. Don't worry, we were seated far away that we disturbed no one. But this guys every analogy had to do with birth and reproduction... I swear they said it like 50 times in 20 minutes. I know it seems a little immature, but I was dying!

In other news:
Seth is working the night sift this week, so I'm super lonely at night after work. Today I got to see him for 85 min. And I miss him. Bad. I miss the lazy evenings together after work. But its just this week, and then he's back to days. Yay!

My bro in law come this weekend to move in with us. I am cautiously excited about it... Hopefully all turns out well with this. I think it will be good for him.

Thats about all. Time for my Harry Potter marathon. I'm a geek, I know. Oh! I saw the new Twilight movie last night, soooo good. Best of the 3 so far!

The time..

Has flown by. Let's see. Two weeks ago was VBS (vacation bible study) where I work, and on Thursday, 3 kid came in sick. And they all wanted me to hold them. I got a seriously bad sore throat. Richard arrived at 3 am on Friday morning, so we ended up just staying awake and talking until 430 when Seth had to get up for work. So I fell asleep about 5ish, and then woke up at 630 to get ready for work.

So when I got off work, Richard woke up and we met Seth for lunch. And then went shopping for food. We ate good while he was here. Mmmhmm. I enjoyed not having to cook, thats for sure. Friday we had this amazing Chicken, Squash and pasta. Mmmm..

Then on Saturday Richard starts the day off creating this amazing BBQ sauce, tinkering around with it. By the way, my taste buds exploded. That afternoon my friend came down to pick her stuff from storage. Making the amount of people staying at my place up to 6. We mainly just chilled and relaxed this day. We had some super delish steak and grilled pineapple and potatoe salad for dinner.

Sunday I woke up and made some super yum blueberry pancakes. Top that with my Strawberry jam....to die for. That afternoon we went to the pool and had a grand ol' time. Richard taught me a better way to stroke while freestyle swimming. We went bowling and met up with some friends there. For dinner we had "Pork Chops to warm your Soul" as Richard called them. Sooo yummy...

And then, Monday morning. I  wake up, and have a super bad coughing fit that made it hard/near impossible to breath. Thank goodness Richard was still there. He helped me tons. Needless to say I called out of work. Went to the doc and found out I had a sinus infection, ear infections and lung infection to go with my sore throat. Hurray for me? I called my boss and got the rest of the week off. Richard left this morning to head over to Jules house.

Tuesday and Wednesday were just spent chilling and relaxing and getting better. Our roommate moved out, gave us his washer and dryer. So we gave our friend that was down our old washer and dryer and a spare couch. She was super thankful. I felt good about it. Thursday she and her son went home. And I slept.

Then on the Fourth of July, Seth and I went to the country with some friends and set off a TON of fireworks. Us spending nothing. Yay! And right now, we are just enjoying having the house to ourselves. Until the 17th when my brother in law moves in with us. Seth is going to night flights for a week, so the rest of this week we will be spend staying up late and sleeping in. I am feeling tons better, just some minor congestion. Oh! And I've lost 8 pounds, Yay me!

Working working, working is fun..

So, it's been a while since I wrote. Sorry. I have gotten a job. I like it. I work for a local Baptist church as a teacher/childcare person. I am loving it so far. Love the kids. I'm enjoying having extra money, and it's mainly in the mornings, so I get to spend more time with Seth. Yay! The work is bringing out my inner child and artist. Lol. Lots of painting and coloring. I work with babies some days, and others with 4-6ish year olds. I'm not sure if you can really call it work, Haha.

So. That's about it for me.... I'm healthy, Hubbys healthy... I went to the dentist for the first time in 2 years. My mouth is fine... Yay me! Yea.. Love ya!

Pickles.

So, while I was in California I had wanted to make jam and pickles. But because it was still early in the year, we were unable to do the pickles there. But we were able to make some delish jam.

Well, after weeks of waiting, I finally found some pickling cucumbers! Yay! So, I call my mom, get the reciepe and set about collecting everything I need..

Saturday, I start at 9 am. I don't have a food processer, so I set my coffee table up with a towel, cutting board, and lots of bowls. 2 hours of thinly slicing 14 pounds of cucumbers, "shredding" 4 bell peppers (My grater wasn't working so I had to cut up the bells super small) and thinly slicing 14 tiny onions. It was tedious. 3 hours of dehydrating the cucs while I went grocery shopping. Then making the syrup. Then combining. Then boiling the cars... I wasn't done till about 5. Just in time to start making dinner.=)

I am super excited. They taste great. Apparently roomie doesn't like my pickles, but that just means more for Seth and Me! He couldn't understand why I made so many jars tho. He thinks I am crazy. Oh well.

Mom!

So, I am lame. I totally forgot Sunday was Mother's day. And so I forgot to call, email, mail, or otherwise inform my mother that I think she is FREAKING AMAZING!!
Seriously, my mom is my role modle on so many aspects of life. She has always been there for me to let me vent, so whine too, and get sage, sound advice. Literally on almost every topic. She seems to be an endless fountain of knowledge. Whenever I call her, and I am freaking out about whatever, her first words always seem to be, "calm down, breath, tell me what's going on..everything's going to be fine"
I remember, when I was about 17(?) I would wait up real late for her to get home from work, just to talk. And no matter how dog tired we were, would would talk for at least an hour. I always valued our time together.
She has given everything to her kids. Anything she can do for them, she does. She will support us on almost everything we set our minds to. She loves us no matter how bad we mess up. She taught me the meaning of unconditional love.
She has taught me soo many things. The most resent being how to make jam, and refreshing my memory on how to grow a garden in a pot. I never realized how many things I know how to do, that I thought were common knowledge things, were taught to me because my mom knew I should know them when I grow up.
I know how privledged I feel being able to call her MY mother. I love her soo much!

Vacation!

So, California was great. Had tons of fun! We went to Monterey and had some yummy clam chowder and a cool new sweatshirt. And then my mother in law, brother in law, his girlfriend, Seth and I went to the Aquarium. Sooo much fun!!! I love the Aquarium!

I also helped my mother in law and bro in laws girlfriend babysit their cousin for over a week. That little girl is sooo cute! She was well behaved and grew quiet attached to us. It's amazing what homemade play doh will do...

While I was down in California, I drove down to L.A. area to help move a friends stuff back to Hollister. I was lots of hard work and lots and lots of driving. It was super fun playing with my mom when we made some homemade strawberry jam and planting some bell peppers and onions. I am super happy to have a little garden to care for! Sister Butler also made me a super cute apron. Love it!

A running joke in my family is that I am the only person who is 5'9" with a short person complex. Well, it hasn't gotten any better this trip. My baby sister is taller then me, and my baby brother is only about an inch shorter then me... I can't help it. I look up to everyone.

I also got my hair dyed to a Cinnamon color. Love it! I pretty just loved my whole trip and everything about it. I think that is all the main high lights from the trip. I have pictures, but I can't find the cord that plugs into the computer, so they may be showing up later.

But a sore funny story is; last night, after filling the dishwasher, I closed the door, I then started to pivot and walk to the other side of the dishwasher. Little did I know, the dishwasher door didn't want to stay shut. I proceeded to fall on and over the dishwasher. Seth and Kent heard me squeek and hit the floor... I was sitting there, dazed, trying to figure out what happened, what I hurt, and whether or not I wanted to cry or laugh. I did a little of both in the end. Unfortunately, I bruised my right forearm, hurt my lower back and my left shoulder blade (the one where I broke my color bone in 8th grade). I am now debating if I should go see a doctor. Until then, IB Profin is by best friend.

We also have been doggie sitting our friends Pit Bull Roxie for the past week. She is so freaking cute! She has fit right in with my dogs. They are all best friends now and have loved playing together. Sad to see her going home tonight. She has been a riot.

That's about it for now. Love ya lots!

Car Trouble

So, we got to Cali on Saturday, which is way before schaedual, but that's ok. The drive was long, but we made it safely, and in one piece. Which is kinda a miracle. In Feb, I took the truck in to take care of a water pump leak. No biggie. But after that, my truck started making some funny whirring noises. So I call the mechanic back, he said that it was ok, and just let it drive for a while, and it should go away.

Well, as time went on, it still wasn't going away, but it wasn't affecting anything that was noticeable, so we drove it to California. That's 1500 miles. So I figured anything that would "work itself out" it would do it by the time we got here. Well, it didn't. I called my handy dandy, super awesome brother and explained what's going on. And I took him for a quick drive to point out exactly what I was hear, what the other mechanic said, and what I suspected it was from when it was occurring. He then used his amazing ability of deduction, and... Came inside, saying, "Would you like me to show you, or tell you how close you were to dying." Oh, my goodness.

He figured out it had something to do with my tires. He lifted up the right passenger side and as he was doing so, my tire tips out at an angle. Further inspection showed that the ball bearings were broke, and the only thing keeping the tire on was the breaks. Going 80 ish mph, hitting a big enough bump (which I-40 has plenty of) we could have lost a tire, and our lives. Yeah, work itself out, my foot. And so, we buy the part, my super amazing brother fixes it, and I am no longer going to die driving home. Yay!

So, here are 2 weeks of fun ahead of us! Hurray!

Clean Up Crew to Isle 6!

So, in true military style, for the umteenth time, we are going on leave next week. Paper work is sign and official. The only thing that could happen, is that they "might" need Seth back at some random time during our time in California. Crossing our fingers that they don't. So, as of yesterday, we are a go for California. Yay!

So we need to get an oil change, check fluids, and buy travel food. Yay! And do lots of laundry! I am so excited to see all our family and friends while we are down there! Ahh, it'll be soo nice.

So, remember, back in Jan, how we had that major storm that destroyed everything that was outside? Well, they are just barely cleaning up the trees. I have had tree limbs falling down for the past 2 months. They called in more people to help. Well, today, they were trimming braches, and there was a huge one that hit my screen door, and put a hole in it. But also, the dogs had put a hole in it too, so we just figured we would pay to replace it when we moved out. But because they knew they also tore it, they called maintanance and replaced the screen door! Yay for random luck!!

That's about it!

Afterthoughts

Oh, Yeah, Happy St. Patricks Day!!

And my tamales are delicious!

Census

I just filled out our families first Government Census. I feel so grown up! =) Haha. But now that it's over and done with (it only took like 3 min) I am at a loss as to what to do today.

Oh totally random. Apparently the housing people have decided to replace our front porch. I get a paper on my door saying they'll do it sometime this week. I wake up this morning to banging, and I peek out my window and they are already taking it apart! It doesn't look like they are done, but now noone is there. Go figure...

And also what to make for dinner tonight...? I am running out of ideas. Luckily for me, I have been able to look new ones up online, but even that is starting to get old. So, if any of you know any good reciepes that you would like to give me, call me, e-mail me, whichever.

But as I have been sitting here I think I have decided to make tamales again. Who knew that typing that you don't know what to make, gives you an idea??

Huh. But tamales always takes forever, so I am going to start the tamale time!

Monday, March 15, 2010

So, thanks to the military who likes to change their minds for no reason at all, our leave has been postponed to next month. Which means, we miss our friends wedding. Which is half the reason we were taking leave. Lame, I know. But I am glad to say, on April 4 or 5,  we will (hopefully) be on our way. Speaking of delays, my grandparents motorhome broke, so they are pushing back my day of them by a week. Which works out because we are going to still be here, which we weren't going to be a week ago. But, such is life.

I have to say, that I love finding new reciepes to make. Tonight is a Honey Mustard Chicken, that is apparently to die for. Hopefully, we wont die, but it will tingle our tastbuds. Hehe. I made a funny...

Anywho, congrats to our roomie. He is a new daddy as of Friday. He is annoyed with his ex about some things, but it'll work out in the end. Hopefully, well for him.

That's about all I got. I have unfortunately been plauged my constant headaches, which makes me sad. But I will survive. Oh, we bought a new TV for me. Lol, So I can watch movies and stuff wherever I want to.

Peace, Love and Chocolate!

My day today..

So today, it started out on a lazy day. But then I got a seriously bad headache, and I became miserable. But don't worry, I didn't wallow in agony. I took some asprine, turned the music up real loud, opened the blinds and window, and did some serious deep cleaning. My thoughts on this was, if I already have a headache, I might as well work it out, and anyways, the cleaning chemicals always give me a headache, so I am already ahead of the game.

And don't get me wrong, when I said deep clean, I mean there were times I was on my hands and knees scrubbing. Having dogs, dog hair, of course, is just a constant fact of live. It's everywhere, get used to it. Well, I vaccuumed all the carpets (maybe 30 sq ft) and my vaccuum had a a cyclone of dog hair. I was kinda grossed out. I vaccuum every couple days to avoid having it get bad, but the dogs are shedding... Yeah, prolly going to daily soon. Anywho, after vacuuming, I swept (another gross pile of hair), and I cleaned the window ledges, the wood, the baseboards, the walls... And then of course mopped.

I then moved on to the kitchen. And I purged everything.Things I bought a while ago, ate a bit of it, then it went stale, but I am too lazy (and money sesitive) to throw away. I organize, I rearrage, I make a shopping list. And then, I deep clean this as well. The counters, the appliances, the floor... eesh, I spill a lot.

By now, my headache has lessened considerably, so I start the laundry. (Last load is currently in the wash.) Then I go shopping while deciding what to make for dinner. After shopping, I put away the groceries. And then prepped dinner.

I got boku kudos from the hubby, cuz he didn't know I was doing all of this. He knew I had a headache, so he thought I wasn't doing anything. Haha. I proved him wrong. So...  pretty much that was my day. I need to buy some good dusting things though, because I was kinda failing on that end. But dinners done, so I am going to go eat.

Can you tell that I was bored, and so I wrote a pointless blog??

Blurb

So, there hasn't been much new going on here. The Grandparents are coming in 2 weeks for a quick visit on their driving trip they're taking. Pretty much just living life in the super slow lane. Hehe. We were at a party last night, which was seriously overrated on how "fun" it was going to be. But there was some good pork to eat. Basically, this is just a little blurb saying that we are alive and kicking!

Oh, funny story. We got a Zune (an MP3 player) for Christmas, and within the first few days, it broke. Something internally made some crunching sounds. Anyways, we sent it out a month ago for repairs, and we just got it back today. And on the little peice of paper that came with it said, "We repaired your Zune! We repaired it by REPLACING it." Oh my goodness. That's a failure to fix it. Why couldn't they say something like, We were unable to repair your Zune, but because it was still under warranty, we have replaced it with a new one. Jeez. And then I was tracking it online with UPS and I watched where it traveled. No joke, it was a long pointless journey. It went from San Antonio, TX to Oklahoma City, OK (which is 200 miles North of where I live) and THEN it came to Altus. That is a pointless 400 miles it traveled.

Explosive Dishwasher!

Well, our dishwasher engine just about exploded and caught things on fire. But don't worry, it didn't. Since the day we moved in, our dishwasher has made this ginding sound, but only for a minute or two. Then would stop. Apparently when the power went out it aggrivated the situation. It recently started making that noise constantly during the wash. So I finally called the maintainance office and asked then to take a look because "It sounds like its going to explode". Turns out, it was going to.

But because this was right after the storm, and there were so many other, more important things to deal with, I've had to wait 10 days for them to come back. And during that time we (I) have had to do all the dishes by hand. Which sucked. Don't get me wrong, the boys helped, but when they work all the time, it mainly fell on me to do the dishes.

But not anymore. As of 10 am today, my new (old but still in good shape) dishwasher has been installed. And has an entire load of dishes in it because I boycotted washing them last night. I like the fact it's quiet, and not going to explode. Yay!

In other news, our new roommate purchased Rock Band II, and it is soo much fun. We were up until 1:30 rocking out! We had 2 friends come over and rock out with us. But don't worry, we live in the recently remodled area of housing, and so people are still in the process of moving in, so we have no neighbors that hate us now because of our new (bought off a deployed friend) surround sound. But now we are planning a Flight Party Night for this weekend sometime to Rock Band it up! Me being the Singer and occasionally bass guitar player. Who knew I had such skills?

We also bought ourselves a nice round dining table with 6 chairs. Its used, but in good condition. Yay for us!

I think that's all my recent blog worthy things. Chatch ya next time!

Adventures

So, last thursday, Jan 28 at 4:17 pm, the entire town and base lost power. This was caused from the ice storm that knocked down 25 poles on base, tons more in town, and almost every power line heading into town. We averaged a tempuature of 40 degrees. It was freaking cold. We were using our gas stove to heat what we could of our house. And lots and lots of blankets. (Thanks grandma for a) giving me warm blankets and b) teaching me how to crochet blankets) And non essential personelle don't have to work. Seth is an essential person. So he gets to sit in one of the 4 buildings with power, while I freeze.

The power is still off the next day. We have a BBQ at a friends house to try and use up all the meat we have. The best part is, we try to play Monopoly in the dark, with only a few candles. That was entertaining because we could see anything. How are you supposed to know what property you need people to pay you for. Needless to say, it didn't last very long. And we were soooo cold. 7 people, 6 guys and me, were all huddling close together trying to be warm.

The next day our friend calls and asks us if we want to escape town for the weekend, and offers to pay for the hotel. And seriously, who is going to say no to that? So we go to Texas, and have a blast. I got Seth to go see a chick flick with me, the movie When In Rome. SOOOO cute, totally reccommend it. But the inevitable happens, and the weekend ended. So we have to go back home so they can work. =(

It was bad enough, that they had paid an extra $2,000 to get food to our base because the trucks didn't want to drive our roads. So the dining facility and gym became a shelter for everyone on base that wants to become a sardine. We were not one of them. Then the best thing happened, the Commander sends out the cops and fire department all around base housing to do a welfare check. They are concerned we have froze in our homes. That afternoon, we were being evacuated. Awesome.

So, I repacked up all our clothes, even the dirty ones (gross). We are told that we may be gone for up to 10 days. And the best part is, it's all on the governments dime. So I head out early, get to the hotel, and start waiting for all our people to show up. ( about 7 cops. Do people realize how crazy cops are when they are kept together in a small amount of space, aka a hotel. I do!) But the all get recalled, mainly to say, be safe, and here is your GTC (government travel card). But turns out, they didn't work. They finally show up at 9:30, 3 hours behind me. The very next morning, power comes back on. But we get to stay for the night.

So, long story short. We are now back home, our power is on, I did our taxes in a hotel, we got our internet working again, I replenished our parishable foods. And we just found out, we are getting another bad storm coming in a few days. So hopefully our power stays on, and we live to see another day.

My Bad

My bad, Mom. I did end up going to California ro register my car because the government is fickle. I was able to spend about 2 weeks chillin with my family for; Mom's birthday, Mother in Laws Birthday, and Christmas. I had a BLAST seeing almost my whole family! Seth wasn't able to make it because it was a VERY last minute trip, but sooo worth it. Officially, my little sister is taller then me. By an inch. That's right, I am 2nd the shortest person in my family. I think I could be one of the few 5'9" person with a short person complex. Just one more thing that is special about me! (ps mom, we love love love our sheets!)

I saw a few of my friends from High School and that was pretty cool catching up with them. (this is a short random line)

My friend Britney gave birth to her baby girl on the 11th, (aka Seths' Birthday). She is just a little cutie! Hurray for married friend!!

So Seths flight has decided to become the Awesome PT ers in the squadron, so that has passed on to me too. Lol. Since he has been getting these awesome power work outs, I am going to join em. But not at the same time. Because I am sooo out of shape, when I went to one of their actual pt classes, and I felt like I failed miserably, But I guess everyone only lasted about that long. But just to make me feel better, Seth and Kent and giving me my own personal PT classes at home until I am more comfortable going to the class. They are ruthless!! My quads are sooo sore! And my abs? Who knew I had them still?! But its worth it. Hopefully. And I have taken up taking the dogs on a 2 mile walk around the golf course, so theres my cadio workout. But. It hurts. My shoes are so old I have blood blisters on my feet. Ouchie!

Today Kent almost officially moved everything to our house. Just some last boxes, and cleaning and he is done with his old house and we start getting rent. Woo hooo! It'll be like I'm working but not! I must admit that I have enjoyed cooking actual meals for dinner every night. Seth and Kent like it too. It suprisingly saves a lot of money for us. And we are eating healthier. Yay us!

Holy Cow!

It has been a looooong time since I last blogged. I have just been doing other things. No real excuse. But I do have some news to update everyone one.

1. I quit my job. They were unwilling to work with me on my schedual, and to get back at me they schedualed me to work like 8 hours. So I quit. It has been nice being able to cook an all out meal for my house. I know Seth is enjoying it. Heck, I'm enjoying cooking and learning new reciepes. Financially we'll be ok. Hopefully. My paychecks were just turning into playtime money, so a little less play and more cuddle time for us! Tragic. Hehe.

2. We are having a friend move into one of our spare rooms. He and his wife are getting a divorce. Which is sad, but everyone has seen it coming for a loong time. But he is willing to pay rent (which is funny, cuz we don't pay rent for our house. Well, we do, but we are given more money to pay the rent, and its automatically paid), help with cleaning, and pay his portion of groceries. So in the long run it'll work out for all of us.

3. It's Seths' 22nd birthday tomorrow. We are pretty much gunna stay quiet. Prolly go to Lawton and have Red Lobster. Mmmm. I have discovered how good that place is a few months ago, and I have been asking to go since. More then likely we are going to have a few friends over and have some video game fun with them. So I guess that means we aren't staying too quiet, but you know what I mean. No raving parties at our house. Lol.

4. I have a new friend. Met her last night at dinner at my house. She is gunna be my new gym partner. She works with Seth. Seth set a up on a friend date. Lol. Well see how this goes.

That's about it in the crazy world of me. Ill work on keeping you posted!
