Job Update

So the bank where I applied to will know if they want to hire my by Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday next week. But don't worry, when I talked to them, they didn't automatically tell me "no". Which is a good sign. I think. I also have applied at the movie store and I just heard about another bank with an opening. So heres hoping!

Walking on Water

So like I have mentioned, it snowed a dew days ago, it's been snowing. Well, the dogs were hyper the other day, so I took them to the park. And they went off running, having a grand ol' time, when I see Suri and Todd jump into the creek. Thinking that it must be freezing water, and they were gunna catch hypothermia, I ran over to them. Looked down.. and saw the creek. Lol. It was frozen solid. Suri and Todd were having a field day running on it, jumping down to it, licking it. Hehe.

So I get to thinking, Suri is jumping down onto that and it isn't cracking, she weighs a good 75 ish pounds, I think I will try it to. Ladies and gentlemen, and anyone else who is reading, I scooted down to the edge, I put my feet on to the ice....And I walked on water. Lol. It was pretty crazy. After a few minutes of walking up the creek, I found a spot that had thinned a little and cracked. And I wanted to find out how thick the ice was. Turns out to be about 4 inches thick or more.

It was fun as heck. I was there for a good while. Suri broke through, got soaking wet. But she is fine. I don't think she even noticed the cold. I am sad to say that the creek is now thawed and back to its flowing awesomeness.

Peace, Love, AND Chocolate!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Yeah, today is my 22nd birthday, hurray for me! Lol. I like birthdays. Mostly. So home made pizza and german chocolate cake for me tonight, Yay!

So, today it snowed. I like snow, except when I have to drive it. Lol. Suri and Todd love the snow. Love running around and pouncing through it. To the point that I bundled up at took them to the park like a crazy person. But I did have a funny story to tell.

Yesterday when I was warming up the car to pick up my hubby, my windshield was covered with ice. So I thought, I'll just throw warm water on it, it'll help thaw it. So I did. But then the windshield wipers POP OFF!!! Yeah, apparently they were still on from that mornings escape, and couldn't move from the ice. Yeah. So, I had to go get some new wipers today. But it decided to snow some more when I was driving to get them. So I drove a total of like 10 mph the whole way there. Lucky there was no one else on the road. So far its about 3 inches deep!

Stupid Cell Phone.....

So today, I was taking out my cell phone out of my pocket, my 5 key, which is also my gh key, fell off. I thought, no biggie, I'll call customer service and get a replacement or get it fixed, whichever workes out best. So I wait on hold, get transfered 5 times, asked to call back on a landline, which I don't have, so I drove to my friends house, called back, waited on hold again...do you feel a recurring theme here?... Well, apparently nothing works out best. Because its a 'manufacturer' error, the phone company won't do anything. They transfer me to the manufacturer, and they say, 'Sure we can fix that, but we have a set price to repair your style phone, its $190.00' I'm sorry, but a key is not worth $190. My phone itself was $250. So in reality, I could almost buy a whole new phone. So I decided to do a little browsing around on the internet, and you can't just get one key, but the whole key pad. BUT they don't tell you how to make the replacement. So what to do, what to do. I looked at prices of other phones (gag me). So I have decided that until I can afford a new phone, I will walk around with a bobby pin in my hair when I need to hit that oh so elusive 5 key. But I am so frustrated!!! So you can call me Mrs. Bobbypin Curtis.

Wish me Luck!

So this week I turned a job application in to 1 of the 2 job listings in any newspaper. How weird is that? But anyways, the job was a bank. They are going to be reviewing applications this week and should also be calling as well, I guess only the applicants that they want to talk to. But anyways, please think happy thoughts about me getting the job, cuz I need it! I am going to be competing with the whole town it seems! Anywho, wish me luck!

Exciting times at the Dr.

So yesterday morning, I woke up dead dog sick. So Hubby went off to work, and I went and camped out in the bathroom. Finally at 9:30, Hubby left work to take me to the doctor. Lucky for me, the base doctors were able to squeeze me in. So we go through the appointment and they ask me to get some bloodwork done.
Well, I always get stressed around needles, and so the flabotamist (sp?) joked with me and distracted me, and it all went well. No passing out for me! Yay! But the doctor wanted to go over the results with me, so while I waited in the lab, Hubby and I were talking. And then it happened. I started feeling really light headed, and dizzy, so I told Hubby to get someone fast, I was going to pass out. He listened, and I relocated to the floor. (less distance to fall, I have learned my lesson there)
Well, the lady who drew my blood came. Then a nurse came. Then the Major came. Then the Lt. Col. came. And then my doc came. And then I lost what little cookies I had. And another nurse came with a wheel chair. I got my own special room to recover in. They all stayed till I had color in my cheeks. The Major then went and fetched me a Sprite. They didn't want to stick me with an IV to hydrate me for fear of me passing out. Again. So 3 hours in the hospital and an Rx to help with the neasuea and told to rest, we went home.
Hubby was great through all of it. Feeding me ice chips, holding my hand, listening to me when I needed him to. He was told to take the rest of the day off to take care of me. And he did. Love that man.
So I am feeling better today, still not great, but better. Hubby keeps tabs on me. And hopefully I will be good as new soon.

For an update. We are doing great, loving life. I had a thought the other day about doing whatever is in your means to help someone.

It is a gratifying feeling when you are helping someone, and you do everything in your power, and knowing at the end of the day, there is nothing else that you could have done. I have had the ability to help out several times, with different situations, and it always makes me smile. Be it helping someone find their dog, give someone a ride in the right direction of home, or sharing your food with friends who are tight.

I am greatful for the opportunities that I have been given to help out here. I love my life, my family, the ability to have a home and be secure. Thank you to everyone who has ever helped me out in my life. You rock! Peace, Love and Chocolate~
