2+2=3....right?

So, I may not be the quickest turtle in the race. But I sure have a lot of fun laughing at myself. Today I was on the phone with my mom, recounting my thought process I had while the base was undergoing some live exercises. Which I didn't know about. It was a little over a week ago, when I was trying to head into town to take care of some things. When I was trying to leave housing, and I saw two cop cars parked on the street, lights going. Now I had heard sirens eariler so I just added it up to being a car accident or something of that nature. Then the flightline trucks show up. (flightline trucks don't leave the flightline) and everyone piles out of the cars wearing their kevlar combat helmets. And I thought, that's weird.
Well they tell me to turn around, and I thought no big deal, I'll just go out another way. So I do and I see Hubby directing traffic to go another way, but I can still go, so I turn towards the gate. I then see the line of cars trying to go out, and it finally clicks that something BIG is going on. I turn around and see the K-9 dogs come out, and then the bomb squad.
So I pull into a parking lot, and call a friend, and ask if she knows what's going on. She was all 'Yeah, there is a bomb threat at the hospital'. Yeah. I felt dumb, so I asked if I could be dumb over at her house because I had a great story. LOL! Turns out that the box was just cough medication left by the recieving door left behind. But not before hubby had to evacuate the hospital, temporary housing, both banks and some other radom buildings.
Moral of the story, when Security Forces in kevlar helmets tell you to turn around, just GO HOME. lol. Mom laughed alot at my blond roots coming through, and my slow deduction skills. Fun times, fun times.

The flowers

So, while talking to my sister the other day, the subject of flowers came up. In many ways. Lol. She is a google freak (said with love) and loves to Google lots of things. So when she was unable to find the flower type that I have in my yard, I thought that I would take a wack at it. So I typed in purple flower on bush Oklahoma. And a few picture websites later, I found it. They are Saucer Magnolia Flowers. And I am so proud of myself for Googleing it, so now I'm not going crazy trying to figure it out. Lol. Yay me! Google rocks!

Updates

So, nothing has really happened recently. Except for the fact that husband has been needing to be at work and 4 am. Meaning we wake up at 3:30 or earlier. Needless to say, I am sick of it, and super tired.
I have also decided that the people of Altus, Oklahoma, LOVE the color purple. We have trees with purple flowers, bushes with purple flowers. Purple is everywhere! Luckly, I think that purple plants are pretty. My bush is a little wilted, but still seems to be doing ok.
Our weather is crazy right now. We have had weather ranging from 96-40 degrees. Possible tornados, hail, and rain. All in about a week. So who knows what its going to be like tomorrow.
That's pretty much it. None of my job applications have turned out to be fruitful. Seems like no one is really hiring right now, so thats stressful, but I'm still trying and crossing my fingers. Wish me luck!

Pretty Flowers

So, I can tell how often I don't go out of my front door during my daylight hours. I walked outside with my husband the other day, and saw this sight, in a few views...

So I ask myself, when did these bloom? And I am super excited to have flowers and green things. I am curious as to what kind of flower it is. So our brown, prickly grass is starting to turn green in patches. And I can hardly wait to find out what other colors are going to bloom in my yard. Hurray for gardening people! I do go out my back door frequently and as of yet, nothing has bloomed. But here's hoping!
